What is RSO OIL (Rick Simpson Oil)? Rick Simpson Oil Documentary
The RSOÂ is just an oil that comes from cannabis. But instead of a solvent extract that removes trichomes from buds, RSO has all the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds from the whole cannabis plant.
The process of extraction is complicated and takes a long time, just like making a tincture. It’s usually almost black and doesn’t taste great because it has a lot of plant matter in it.
RSO was made as a medicine to treat cancer and other long-term illnesses, such as MS and asthma. Even though Rick Simpson doesn’t make the oil himself anymore, it is still an important part of the treatment plans of people all over North America.
Benefits of RSO
Even though Rick Simpson’s recovery from cancer and tinnitus was almost a miracle, cannabis’s status as a Schedule I drug means that there isn’t enough consistent research to back up these claims. But as more and more states make it legal for adults to use cannabis, more information is available.
There have been encouraging reports about how well RSO works. For example, a 2013 article showed that a 14-year-old who was dying of leukemia saw a big drop in the number of leukemic blast cells when RSO was used, with no harmful side effects.
From what I’ve heard, RSO has helped people with multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, cancer, insomnia, chronic pain, asthma, and many other conditions.
RSO is a very potent THC product that may have therapeutic effects like relieving pain and making you hungry. It may also help with sleep and nausea. But because these benefits haven’t been studied, we can’t be sure that RSO will bring them.
A study from 2021 showed that even though many cancer patients use cannabis along with their treatments, their primary care teams didn’t know how to work cannabis into their routines. Clearly, there needs to be a lot more research done on how to use RSO to improve treatment.
Advantages and Applications
While contemporary research has proven that RSO is useful in the treatment of cancer when combined with other medicines, RSO can also be used to cure a variety of other illnesses. RSO has also been demonstrated to be useful for the following ailments:
Multiple sclerosis (MS) (MS)
Arthritis
Asthma
Some infections, such as MRSA,
Inflammation
Their blood pressure is high.
Depression
Insomnia
Rick Simpson Oil Dosage
While the dose varies based on age, gender, and other physical health considerations, the general rule of thumb for RSO is 60 grams over 90 days. Patients should begin with three daily doses of a little drop (equal to a grain of rice) administered topically or consumed in some way every eight hours.
The patient should then double their dose every four days. After around five weeks, the patient should increase their dose to one gram of oil every day until they have used all 60 grams. This is the standard course of treatment for cancer patients. While some anecdotal data suggests that this dosing regimen is effective, others may benefit from various amounts and ways of administration.
Make sure you have the proper oil if you intend to smoke or vape RSO rather than consume it or use it topically. Make careful to completely burn off the alcohol if you’re preparing it yourself, and always check with the budtender at the dispensary where you’re purchasing it. However, because the consequences might be dangerous and flammable, we at Rick Simpson Oil Store do not advise this manner of intake.
When cooking with RSO, a common ingredient is a cannabutter or cannabis cooking oil. Then, in recipes, substitute your cannabis-infused product for the regular one to make RSO-infused edibles. The oil can be added to sauces, dips, salad dressings, and drinks.
But keep in mind to start low and go slowly. Cannabis edibles, particularly those produced with RSO, can be quite strong, so consume less than you believe you require.
